biography
Elaina relocated to Humboldt County in 2006 to pursue a second degree in Native American Studies at Humboldt State University. After graduation, she became deeply engaged in the arts community. Working as a watercolor painter, she started by volunteering with the Humboldt Arts Project until it dissolved and then became a member of the Redwood Arts Association. Inspired by the City of Eureka and its historic waterfront, she spends most of her time working and volunteering here. She has volunteered with California Indian Legal Services and the Yurok Tribal Justice Center and now works as a Legal Secretary at the local Legal Aid office. She is finishing up her law degree through Northwestern California University School of Law. She hopes to practice here. She loves films and this community. She loves writing and has had her work published locally. The Eureka Theater is her favorite building in the world. At this very moment, she is either painting, wine tasting, studying law, reading, traveling, running on the bay trail, or writing forthcoming chapters for her book.
