Start by filling out the form below. Then you will sign up for an available 5 minute slot. After that, you’ll want to prepare an audition monologue that is at least 1 minute in length and no more than 2 minutes. If you are interested in auditioning for one of NCRT’s musicals in the 35th season, please also prepare a song selection of at least 1 minute in length but no more than 2 minutes. You may also prepare shorter contrasting monologues if you prefer. It’s your audition, and we want it to be as best for you as possible! One the day of your scheduled auditions, please arrive at NCRT at least 15 minutes early. You will be called at the scheduled time. Then you’ll want to go to the stage, introduce yourself, then do your thing! We do ask that in order to insure everything stays on schedule, you will be given a silent warning at the 2:15 and 2:45 marks, and at 3 minutes, you will be politely asked to stop. After that, you’re done!

You will be informed of initial casting choices and/or callbacks by the end of June 6. You will hear back from us even in the event you were not cast.

Sure! If you have an unavoidable conflict that prevents you from attending the season audition dates, we can arrange for recorded auditions, etc. Also, there’s no certainty that we will cast the entirety of the 35th season in this one round of auditions. Directors still have the opportunity to schedule additional auditions for their individual shows. So more chances to be the NCRT stage will certainly appear! We want these new season auditions to make it easier for many performers in our community to make informed decisions about what shows they want to participate in over the next year. But we still want to do everything we can to offer as many opportunities as humanly possible to existing and aspiring performers!

Yes, we will have an accompanist for auditions. So please be sure to bring clearly legible sheet music along with you if you have a song prepared. If you have accompaniment already prepared (CD, mp3, etc), we ask that you also bring the equipment to play them as well, as that will not be provided. A capella songs are allowed, but not suggested.

No problem! First off, it’s perfectly fine to bring a ‘cheat sheet’ along with you – memorization isn’t a requirement. Also, we will have some monologues printed and available, in case you’re really desperate for something! What’s most important is to relax and have fun. If you don’t have a song, that’s a bit more difficult. But pretty much everybody knows the words/tune to ‘Happy Birthday’!
