ANNOUNCEMENT Regarding the Governor's Most Recent Guidance on COVID 19. 3/12/2020
Sometimes our little community on the North Coast can feel very isolated, but we are a part of a much larger world, and occasionally events on the world stage force us to respond. As we approach opening night of Hamlet, we have been carefully monitoring all guidances and and directives from health officials locally and on the state level regarding the ongoing fight against COVID 19. As of March 12th, Governor Newsom has announced that all public gatherings in California should be postponed until further notice unless the people involved can be isolated at least six feet apart.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce that the NCRT season will be going on hiatus until this guidance from the governor is lifted. We are very excited to share Hamlet with you, but we recognize that our first duty must be to the safety of our patrons and the community at large. We stress that this is only a postponement. A massive amount of blood, sweat, and tears have gone into this production. As King Claudius would put it, “It is with an auspicious and a dropping eye” that we announce that Hamlet will continue as soon as the statewide guidance is lifted. Please stay tuned for further developments. Thank you for being a part of the NCRT community. We will all get through these trying times soon, and we look forward to continuing to serve you as your local community theatre.
